As a result of being found guilty of child sexual abuse, singer R Kelly has been sentenced to another 30 years in prison after being sentenced to 30 years in prison for racketeering charges.
During a new trial on new charges, singer R Kelly was found guilty by a federal judge on the charges of child sexual abuse, according to the Guardian, and has been sentenced to an additional 20 years in prison.
A federal judge on Thursday handed the singer R Kelly a 20-year prison sentence for his convictions on child sexual abuse images and enticement of minors for sex charges, but he will serve nearly all of his sentence simultaneously with a 30-year sentence he was sentenced to last year on racketeering charges.
R Kelly has been reported to spend no less than 31 years in prison, and he would not be eligible for parole until he was 80 or older
When the sentencing was read by the federal judge, Harry Leinenweber, he noted:
“The whole concept of grooming is kind of the opposite of fear of bodily harm… It’s the fear of losing love, losing affections [from Kelly] … I don’t think it rises to the level of bodily harm.”
